
What are the ages and divisions?
- U9 – Players born in 2016 – 2019
- U13 – Players born in 2012 – 2015
- U17 – Players born in 2007 – 2011
*** Players born in 2007 are considered overagers. A team can have a maximum of 3 overagers.
Try Travel
If players are not sure if they have the ability to play travel fastball, but wanna try…. We will hold 2 x indoor “try travel” sessions in March. First register for Travel then email us and let us know you are interested in the sessions. There is a fee of $25 to attend the sessions. Once the sessions end, your player can decide if they would like to sign up for Travel or the Sarnia League. NOTE: These sessions are not for experienced travel players.
When does U9 take to the diamond?
Your season will run every Tuesday night from 6:30pm – 8:00pm in Germain Park from May 13 – August 5. The final day will be Saturday, August 9th with a game, lunch, and awards.
What can I expect in U9?
U9 is an instructional division that focuses on player skill development and rules. An instructor, senior travel players and coaches will run skills development for the first 45 minutes. The final 45 minutes will be a fun learning game run by the team’s coaches.
My player is a U9, but I feel they are ready for U13.
If you feel your player is ready to move up to the U13 division, please do not register and email us to make those arrangements.

When does U13 and U17 take to the diamond?
Your season will run every Tuesday and Thursday night in Germain Park from May 13 – August 7. The final day will be Saturday, August 9th with a game, lunch, and awards.
Online Registration
Registration will run from January 27 to May 3
U9 – $145 ($100 Registration + $25 Admin + $20 Cash Calendar)
U13 and U17 – $235 ($190 Registration + $25 Admin + $20 Cash Calendar)
Walk-Up Registration
Walk-up registration for those having difficulty registering online will take place Saturday, April 5th, 11am – 1pm in the Chaytor Building – Germain Park off Indian Road. This is also your opportunity to complete “OFFLINE PAYMENTS” with cash, debit or cheque in office.
What does Registration include?
Players will receive a team shirt and pants. Registration also includes a team picture and final day lunch and award.
What if I registered, then my player decided to quit?
Before the season begins, you will only receive the Registration fee (U9 – $100 and U13/U17 – $190. The admin fee and cash calendar are non-refundable. Once the season begins, there will be no refunds.
What equipment do I need?
A glove and laced-up footwear is all that is required to play girls fastball. We will provide the rest.
NOTE: Running shoes are fine, but we do recommend soft cleated footwear (ball or soccer shoe) as running shoes tend to slip on the infield gravel when running the bases.
Can I bring my own bat and helmet?
Players are welcome to provide their equipment like a bat, batting helmet, fielders mask, etc. HOWEVER, all equipment must have the proper certificate and requirements. Bats can only be softball/fastball (ABSOLUTELY NO BASEBALL, TEE BALL, or SLO/TWO PITCH bats are permitted). Helmets must have a chin strap and cage. Umpires, Coaches and Executive Members can remove a player or illegal equipment from a game/practice at any time.
Uniforms
Players will receive a team shirt and pants. Both shirt and pants must be worn during all games and practices. Shorts are not permitted during games or practices. Players who wear improper footwear will not be permitted to participate in games or practices.
Coaches
Each team must have a minimum of 3 dedicated coaches. A head coach and two assistants. The Head Coach is responsible for filling the coaching positions. Team helpers will also be required for games and practice. NON-Parent coaches and helpers are welcome. All coaches and helpers must complete a background check and all coaches must complete online coaches training provided by the SMAA. A coach is not permitted on the field with players if training and a background check are not completed.
Coaches /Helper Uniform
Coaches and Helpers will be provided with a Sarnia Heat shirt. Any pants/shorts are permitted. A coach must wear laced footwear to be on the diamond. Sandals/Crocs are not permitted.
